In addition to clever electronics and control units small robots also need exquisite mechanical qualities. Slim design, light weight and exceptionally high mobility are premises for lightweight robots to be used without major installation effort at all possible places.For the joints of the robot, the designers therefore want bearings, which have only low weight and need only small mounting space. On the other hand, however, a high stiffness is required for safe absorption of the occurring moments.
